Dessert Hot Cross Buns recipe

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 60g butter
- 4 hot cross buns, halved sliced
- banana, to serve
- strawberries, to serve
- maple syrup, to serve
Method
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and vanilla.
- Dip hot cross buns into the egg mixture, turning to coat.
- Heat butter in a large frying pan on medium.
- Cook buns in two batches 2 to 3 minutes each side, until golden.
- Serve with banana and strawberries. Drizzle with maple syrup.
Notes
- If preferred, use fruit bread or brioche in place of hot cross buns.
