Wellington On A Plate returns this year

Wellington’s annual culinary festival, Visa Wellington On A Plate (WOAP) returns this year from 11 to 27 August.

Wellingotn -on -a -plate

At the heart of Visa WOAP (pronounced woah-app) are more than 110 popular events. At the relatively sane end of the scale are bread-making and coffee roasting master classes, themed banquets, food trails, and a lot to do with chocolate. More left field experiences include a truffle dog training course, something called Bite a Buffalo, and the SPCA Cat Cafe.

The whole region comes to the party, from the northern outposts of Kapiti Coast and Wairarapa wine country to the Hutt Valley and salty southern suburbs. The hub of the action, however, is downtown Wellington, which is whipped into a frenzy of laneway parties, pop-ups, food truck rallies, and more.

Among the visitors who pour into the region for the occasion are some of the world’s best chefs, who team up with local luminaries to infuse Visa WOAP with an international flavour.
