Tamarillo crumble recipe

Tamarillo _crumble

Serves 4-6

Ingredients

  • 8 tamarillos, peeled
  • ½ cup Stones Ginger Wine
  • ½ cup maple syrup
  • 1 packet gingernut biscuits, crushed into small bits
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup of your favourite muesli (we use Delish brand)
  • ½ cup flour
  • 100g butter
  • Whipped cream, to serve

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 175.
  2. Cut peeled tamarillos in half and place in a small ovenproof dish.
  3. Pour over ginger wine and maple syrup.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine gingernuts, brown sugar, muesli and flour.
  5. Grate in butter.
  6. Using your hands, combine butter into dry mixture until resembles breadcrumbs.
  7. Layer crumble over the tamarillos.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes, until crumble is golden.
  9. Serve with whipped cream.
