Mighway sees significant growth

Mighway, a service that connects motorhome owners with travellers, is seeing a significant growth just ahead of New Zealand summer

Mighway, New Zealand’s fastest growing RV peer-to-peer platform connecting motorhome owners with guests, is reporting significant growth year-on-year just ahead of the New Zealand summer.

Mighway is operated by Tourism Holdings Limited (THL), and since its launch in November 2015, the service has attracted more than 600 Kiwi motorhome owners with sign-ups continuing every week. Listings have increased 125 percent year-on-year.

As summer draws closer, visitors can select from a diverse range of campers listed with Mighway. Because of the variety offered, prices range greatly, from $55 for a two-berth through to $500-plus for a modern six-berth vehicle.

Mighway’s network of private owners enjoy the opportunity to meet international travellers and provide personal recommendations and local insight.

Owner Paul listed his motorhome ‘Erl’ with Mighway in early 2016 and says engaging with guests has been a positive experience. "We love to go the extra mile and make sure our guests are well taken care of. We’ve done airport pick-up/drop-offs and even taken our guests to do their grocery shop before embarking on the road," he says.

This sense of community is something Mighway Head of Brand and Marketing Jason Nockels says Mighway strongly encourages.

"It’s that quintessentially Kiwi approach to hospitality," he says. "It’s not unusual for our owners to sit down and have a cup of tea or coffee with their guests and share their favourite bits of Aotearoa before they hit the road to create even more memorable adventures."
