NZ’s 2016 Silver Fox and Foxy Lady

Motorhomes, Caravans & Destinations congratulates the winners of the GrownUps.co.nz Silverfox and Foxy Lady competition.

The photo competition, which celebrates the fact that beauty isn't just for the young, ran for a month on the online lifestyle website, garnering 220 entrants from around the country aged between 50 and 84. More than 5000 votes were cast for who was most deserving of the titles.

Whanganui's Mark FitzGerald, 56, took out the ultimate Silverfox category, with his debonair good looks, and the funky Christina Stephens, 64, from Wellington, snapped up the ultimate Foxy Lady.

"We always have a lot of fun with this competition," says GrownUps general manager Richard Poole. "It's about celebrating life, age, and, most importantly, being happy with yourself at this stage of your life."

Judges felt the winners' fun attitudes shone through in their photos and their captions. Christina said hers was taken the day she'd received new specs and she felt "pretty damn good in them", while Mark shared he was on his way to a black-tie party dressed as the suave Mr Bond.

"Mark and Christina both seem to exude the GrownUps.co.nz attitude to making the most of life and not taking it too seriously. Age is not an anchor for them. This came through well in their photos and fellow GrownUps members responded well by voting for them," says Richard.

The winners receive a range of prizes from a prize pool as part of their win, including a Panasonic TV, Navman, a Champers Hamper, Sococo kids activewear, Motorhome, Caravan & Destinations magazine subscriptions from Bauer Trader and even the opportunity of possibly joining the books of a modelling agency.
