Irish Flag cocktail recipe

Irish Flag Cocktail

St Patrick’s Day, on Thursday 17 March, is the ultimate annual celebration of Irish culture. The Irish are well known for their love of a great time, so we’re raising a glass to them this month with these cocktails designed especially with the Emerald Isle in mind.

This layered shooter cocktail mimics the colours of the Irish flag, with green at the base, followed by white and orange. Pour each spirit slowly over the back of a teaspoon, one at a time, to create the layers in this surprisingly delicious drink.

SERVES 4

INGREDIENTS

  • 100ml crème de menthe
  • 100ml Baileys
  • 100ml Grand Marnier (or Malfy grapefruit gin)

METHOD

  1. Divide crème de menthe evenly into four shot glasses.

  2. Using the back of a teaspoon resting against the side of the shot glass, pour the Baileys slowly over the top to create the next layer.

  3. Rinse the spoon and finish with Grand Marnier or Malfy gin.
