MCD Pets September: Alpacas and labrador

Being able to holiday with your four-legged friends is one of the great things about travelling by motorhome or caravan. Many of our readers travel with their dogs, and a good many also travel with their cats! Here’s a look at some of the furry friends of our readers, staff, and advertisers.

NZMCD advertiser, Shane Smale (Ci Motorhomes)

When he’s not hard at work at his South Auckland dealership, Ci Motorhomes, Shane Smale is often tending to his three alpacas—Amadora, Zelda, and Hope (also known as the three stooges!). Alpacas are often farmed for their fine fibre and are also known to be quite intelligent (and, as these three prove, very cute!).

NZMCD reader Wayne Johnston

When you travel with a big, boisterous chocolate Labrador like Milo, you need a big motorhome! Milo is two years old and lives full-time in a wide body nine-metre bus, with his humans, Wayne and Leanne Johnston. He likes nothing better than playing Frisbee with Wayne and bringing people sticks. For all his size and energy, Milo is a gentle sweetheart who wins the hearts of whoever he meets.

Wayne’s travel tip: Have lots of toys for entertainment and plenty of exercise and socialisation. And a bloody good vacuum cleaner!

If you’d like your pet to feature in our next pet page, send a photo and a few sentences telling us about him/her (including your number one tip for travelling with pets) to csmith@bauertrader.co.nz.
