CI Motorhomes launches new models for 2018

Italian manufacturer CI Motorhomes are bringing four new models to New Zealand

Four new models from the Italian manufacturer CI Motorhomes have arrived in New Zealand, and Shane and Noelene Smale of Walkabout Sales—New Zealand’s exclusive CI dealer—are excited to introduce the 2018 line-up

Sitting at the top of the range is the Riviera, which boasts ultra-modern décor, including Fenix stone benchtops along with eco leather upholstery. All XT models include the latest Avtec television, which means you can watch one channel while recording the other.

This comes with a fully automatic Alden aerial and a five-year warranty. The Riviera models are available in popular 130hp or 150hp, which is recommended when towing.

Also new is the Magis 63P, which measures under seven metres and features an island bed. The Riveria and Magis 63P are automatic low line models and include a solar panel, bike rack, reverse camera, gas oven, 6kW Truma combi unit, Fiamma awning, satellite dish, Avtec TV/DVD, and 16-inch alloys with a spare wheel.

Also recently released is the Triaca 32XT. Under six metres, this motorhome boasts amazing space inside with a large kitchen and lots of storage. But the wow factor lies in the 32-inch television that features inside this four-berth motorhome.

Shane, who has been in the industry for 19 years, says it is vital to listen very carefully to what clients want. "Every year we visit the CI factory in Italy (where they manufacture more than 6500 motorhomes per year and have building motorhomes for more than 37 years) and make changes to meet the New Zealand market," he says.

Shane says that popular customer demands include island beds or two single beds, automatic transmission, and no hidden extras. So every extra that is available from Fiat or the Ci factory is ordered on all Walkabout models—something Shane says is the success of the ever-growing demand of CI motorhomes.

This success has meant they have had to expand to bigger premises to house spares and now carry nine different models in their line-up. Walkabout Sales is now the only recognised Duraseal dealer that provides a coating on fibreglass for protection on motorhomes to eliminate oxidising. Walkabout can also arrange insurance and provide mechanical extended warranties on all brands found on its website.
