Words from our winners: Kylie at Orana Wildlife Park

“We were excited to win a family pass to Orana Wildlife Park and really enjoyed our visit. Seeing the animals in the wide-open spaces makes it feel more like a safari than a zoo.

The highlights were definitely seeing the lions feeding up close, and hand-feeding the giraffes. There are plenty of other interesting sights such as the orangutans and gorillas in their personal castles, watching the gibbons on their island over the water, seeing the water buffalo, and spotting the elusive (and lazy) cheetah.

The kids loved the farmyard area and were soon hugging chickens and petting sheep – convincing them to leave took some time. There was plenty of parking, water fountains and a cafe. The animals have lots of lovely shady areas, but we were glad to have our hats and sunscreen as some walkways are quite exposed.”
