Escape Rentals – known for its distinctively painted vehicles – now gives its customers the chance to off set their behicle emissions and help the environment.

Through a contract with Carbon South, Escape will offset in-house emissions and offer packages to customers.

“Taking decisive action in offsetting our emissions, and putting in place a reduction plan, just made good business sense to us,” explains Escape General Manager, Andrew McGregor. “We have a high proportion of clients from Europe, where consumer awareness of green issues is high, and we wanted to show our customers that we were serious about the environment.”

Escape also enlisted Carbon South’s help in putting together a native tree planting programme with The Te Kopi Wildlife Sanctuary located in the outer Pelorus Sound. Te Kopi aims to help restore and conserve indigenous biodiversity and enhance the natural character of the environment.

“Visitors come to this country seeking a special experience and it is up to New Zealand-based businesses to continue adding value in terms of consumer perception,” added McGregor.
